My Yoga Journey
I have had the privilege to teach yoga to people of all walks of life since 2002. My yogic "spark" was lit in high school when I discovered a yoga VHS (yes, im aging myself) at the local library. I was amazed by how content everyone looked. I wanted that! My love of play, exploration and discovering the world around me led me to begin practicing yoga with fervor. While experiencing my first class, it dawned on me that the things I have always loved such as spirited movement, curiosity and a genuine joy of discovery had actually been my yoga. The practice of moving, breathing, twisting, observing and just "being" felt like home."
I completed my teacher training at Shanti Yoga, a multi-disciplinary yoga school in McCall, Idaho. Graced with teachers and mentors who inspired me to dig deep and discover my true path, I feel grateful to have studied with a multitude of influencing teachers but find my best teachers to be my students. I love watching yogis trust their bodies, shifting, listening and coming home to their bodies. It is so moving to see just how beautiful the whole process is. I get inspired and find myself trying things that my students do, it's really a fun process! Yoga provides me with the opportunity to be both a student and a teacher at the same time. I strive to learn and grow in this practice that has helped shape who I am as an individual."
When not doing yoga, I thoroughly enjoy writing, drinking copious amounts of wine, trying my hand at stand-up comedy, spending time in the outdoors with my family and hiking.
I love what I do. There is nothing better than being in a room full of people connected and living in the moment. I am passionate about sharing yoga, showing people how simple it can be to find their way back home through breath and movement.
Warm Vinyasa -Yin Fusion
With the room heated to 80 degrees, this class truly is, “the best of both worlds.” The blend of Vinyasa and the slow depth of Yin Yoga provide the perfect practice to create both strength and flexibility.
